Our Homestead is a 501(c) 3 non-profit created by family and friends of adults with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to provide much needed housing for the many adults in New Hampshire who need a safe, stable living situation.
We began as a group of parents who have the mutual concern about what will happen to our loved ones when we are no longer able to care for them. Our children are adults now, but we realize that those of you with younger children will be facing the same lack of housing options in the future if we do not all work together to create additional housing for them. Housing options are now very limited, thus we are following the lead of other parent led groups in our state to build or renovate housing.
We are based in the greater Manchester region and appreciate the support of the Moore Center. We officially began fund raising in December 2025 and are excited to report we have raised nearly $18,000 to date. We so appreciate those stepping up to help support us. Going forward we need to locate land to build on or an appropriate building to renovate.
The need is great and we are looking for volunteers who have a heart to help us meet this critical need. We are currently most in need of volunteers to know QuickBooks as well as an accountant to help us do our taxes. We are in the process of creating committees to help with marketing, fund raising, as well potential site researching.
We will be hosting our next community informational meeting at the Moore Center on March 11th from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. Let us know if you would like to attend by emailing us at Events@ourhomesteadnh.com. We hope you can join us.

In May of 2024 many of you joined us at the Moore Center for a meeting to discuss the need for housing for adults with developmental disabilities. Much has happened since that first gathering, and we are excited to invite you back to give an update on our progress and to share ways that you can help us move forward to create housing for our loved ones.
Please join us on November 5, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:00 in the Moore Center Conference room located at 195 McGregor Street, Suite 400, Manchester, NH 03102. Light refreshments will be served.
